GRUELLER AT GREWELTHORPE

So myself, Trevor and Bob trundled off to do a 13k, multiterrain race in
Grewelthorpe, a village near Ripon and Masham. It was the first running
of this race to raise funds for the village hall, Bob spotted it on the
North East Races website and in our quest to do races we’ve not done
before, it sounded perfect, 13k, or 8 mile in old money, of country
lanes, fields, bridleways, forest tracks and 900ft of climbing all added
up to a challenging route. Marshalls on every corner and plenty of tape
in the woods meant you would be hard pushed to get lost, plenty of
flapjack at the end, and a couple of pints in the Crown added to a good
day.
